The Story
This beautiful hand done art was created by American Artist, Katharine Barnwell. Katharine Barnwell is a classically trained artist living and working in New York City. Her studies began in Florence in the studio of Signorina Nera Simi, continuing in New York at the Art Students League, The National Academy and Pratt Institute.
Halcyon Days was founded in 1950 in Mayfair, London, originally selling antique gifts while working to revive the nearly lost craft of enamelling on copper. By 1970, it had established its own production facility, enabling the brand to expand its range of handcrafted goods. Today, it is known for fine bone china, accessories, and enamel boxes, all still made in its West Midlands workshops with a continued focus on traditional craftsmanship.
